Backdoor is a vulnerability intentionally left in a system’s security. It can be created by intruders (who, for example, plant a Trojan horse in the software). Often, however, these are wickets left by software developers themselves to test additional features. Sometimes, after the testing phase, developers forget to remove such a “back entrance” and the program ends up in distribution with security holes.
